The first phase of the campground has 117 RV lots, a pond, river access, and a clubhouse. Our friends, James and Michelle, own a back-in site on the river and let us use it for Labor Day weekend. McKinney Campground – 144 & 145
07.28.22-07.31.22 150 campsites, 10 camping trips, and we have finally stayed in the back of the campground. McKinney Campground is located in Acworth, Ga on Lake Allatoona. A Corps of Engineers park, it has 150 RV campsites, two beaches, one playground, and a boat ramp. We have camped at McKinney Campground ten times; it’s our go-to campground, nine miles from home. Bald Ridge Campground – 43
07.14.22-07.17.22 We were so lucky to pick up one of the best sites in the campground when another camper had to cancel. Our friends are camp hosts at Bald Ridge Creek Campground and had this specific weekend off. We watched the website for cancellations and a couple choices opened up. Bald Ridge Campground is located in Cumming, Georgia on Lake Lanier. A Corps of Engineers park, it has 82 campsites, a beach, playground, and boat ramp. McKinney Campground – 110 & 109
07.07.22-07.10.22 McKinney Campground is the only Corps of Engineers campground on Lake Allatoona open year round. However, only half of the sites are available to book in the winter and one of the best ones we had this weekend is not. It’s too bad, because it would be awesome in the fall.
