FDR State Park – 203
04.09.26-04.12.26 FDR State Park is located southwest of Atlanta in Pine Mountain, GA. It is Georgia’s largest statepark, over 9,000 acres and plenty of trails to hike. For a History/Nature lover like me, this park is adream. The most popular spot is an overlook that President Franklin D. Roosevelt often used for apicnic, called Dowdell’s Knob. The overlook has a life-size bronze sculpture of FDR sitting on abench and taking in the valley. Nearby is a stone grill that he built for picnics. There are multiple historical sites at the park that FDR had the Civil Conservation Corps build during the Great Depression. The Liberty Bell Pool is a fan…

Fort Wilderness RV Resort and Campground- Full Hook-up
02.12.26-02.21.26 Our Imagine Camper family has stayed in every type of campsite for travel trailers at Fort Wilderness RV Resort. It’s our fourth trip to the Fort and we chose to book the Full Hook-up Campsite for our magical adventure. Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida—about ten minutes from the Disney World parks. The Disney resort has more to offer than we could fit into our week-long stay, while also visiting the Disney parks. The campground offers two pools, horseback riding, pony rides, archery, fishing, movie nights, arcade, and multiple playgrounds. Rentals are available for biking, kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boats. Waggin’ Trails dog park is also…

Better Together – Love Adventures Rental
“Imagine Camper” is a blog reviewing campgrounds and campsites that our family has experienced in our Grand Design travel trailer. But we recently stayed at an amazing cabin and wanted to share all the details with our followers (and a discount code) in case they are also thinking about a splurge in their adventures. “Better Together” is located between Dahlonega and Dawsonville on a serene 60 acres, owned by Love Adventures LLC. The couple that runs the rental property also owns “At Last,” a second cabin off the same road. The properties are up a gravel road with an incline. We were in a four-wheel drive, but it’s not required. Both properties are inside a gate with an electronic…

A. H. Stephens State Park
9.19.25-0.20.25 It’s a convenient place to stop off I-20, but A. H. Stephens State Park offers so much more. A. H. Stephens State Park is located in Crawfordville, GA–just three turns off Interstate 20. The park is best known for its history and equestrian facilities. There is an equestrian campground loop with 29 sites and a barn with stalls for horses. We also noticed a place to wash horses near the barn. Throughout the state park there are about 20 miles of horse trails. The main campground loop has 25 campsites with water, electric, and sewer hook-ups. The sewer connections were added about a year ago when the entire campground was renovated. A. H. Stephens…

Florence Marina State Park
5.16.25-5.18.25 Pack your bug spray! Florence Marina State Park is located in Omaha, GA on the northern portion of Lake Walter F. George (Lake Eufaula). Situated on the Georgia/Alabama state line, this park is known for its fishing and the proximity to Providence Canyon State Park. Florence Marina has 41 full hook-up RV campsites, 7 cottages, and 8 efficiency units. The park has 66 boat slips available to rent at its marina. Other amenities include fish-cleaning stations, boat ramps, a playground, and mini golf. Originally we had this trip booked in January, but canceled due to weather conditions. At that time we had one of the best campsites, 24. It is a large pull-thru campsite…
