09.20.20-09.26.20 A full week at the beach! We really needed this family vacation and had so much fun. Huntington Beach State Park is located in Murrells Inlet, SC, south of Myrtle Beach. We stayed in this campground three years ago—see details here. Since our last visit, the campground has added a new section—complete with paved sites and full hook-up. Hamilton Branch State Park
09.18.20-08.20.20 Hamilton Branch State Park is located in Plum Branch, South Carolina on the Georgia line, just north of Augusta. It has beautiful waterfront sites on Thurmond Lake, off the Savannah River. We crossed over Thurmond Lake Dam on the way into the park. I’m not scared of heights, but I had a little bit of anxiety going over the Dam with the camper in tow. It was a long way down. Hamilton Branch State Park has 173 sites with water and electricity, but you must do your research when booking these sites. Half of the sites are not laid out for travel trailers and 5th wheels. Bald Ridge Campground – 44
08.14.20-08.16.20 Epic site for a great weekend with friends! This was our fifth time at Bald Ridge Campground this season. If you have been following along you know it is a favorite campground on Lake Lanier. If this is your first time to our blog, be sure to check out the other posts on Bald Ridge Campground for other details. 07.31.20-08.02.20 I’ve finally figured it out. The best campground on Lake Allatoona after McKinney Campground is Victoria! Victoria Campground pleasantly surprised us because we were worried about the location in Bartow County. To get to Victoria Campground you will drive through multiple residential streets. Next to the campground is a large day-use beach and private marina. The campground is on the smaller side, with 75 campsites, but many of them are waterfront. The location of Victoria Campground is great for swimming, it’s right in the middle of the main portion of the lake. It can get rather busy on the water here, especially on the holiday weekends. Bald Ridge Campground – 31 & 30
07.02.20-07.05.20 The best sites for a holiday weekend have to be booked 6 months in advance, sometimes to the minute. We scored site 31 for the 4th of July weekend. Seems like we are living at Bald Ridge Campground almost every weekend, but this is the last one we have booked for the summer. Site 31 is in the loop past the beach. The driveway is long enough to fit three vehicles and our trailer. Thankfully the water and electric hook up sit further off the site than the other sites we reserved in the past (48 & 53).
