Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground – Preferred
02.19.23-02.25.23 Did we get hooked on Disney camping? Absolutely. Fort Wilderness RV Resort and Campground is located on Disney property in Buena Vista, FL. We camped on a premium meadows site in September of 2021. See that post for basic details on Fort Wilderness camping. This trip was booked only a month out from our arrival with a cancellation we picked up. During those dates, we had the option of a preferred site for $160 a night. Prices for sites and tickets to the park have increased since our stay in 2021. We decided to do three park days during our stay this time. The preferred site is smaller than…

General Coffee State Park
02.17.23-02.19-23 Checked off another state park on our way down to Florida. General Coffee State Park is located in Nichols, Georgia and while it seems to be the middle of nowhere, the park has a lot to offer. The main attraction is the farm where we saw donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and a horse. The park is about 1500 acres in total with a four-acre lake in the middle. Sleeping accommodations include four cottages, 50 campsites, four equestrian campsites, and ten dry camping sites. There are multiple playgrounds throughout the state park and about 13 miles of equestrian trails. There are two campground loops; in our opinion…

Unicoi State Park & Lodge
11.23.22-11.27.22 Looking for a state park campground that offers a full restaurant? That’s just what we had in mind when looking for openings for Thanksgiving 2022. Originally we had booked in Pigeon Forge, but decided to save some money and pick up a cancellation closer to home. Since this was going to be longer than just a weekend trip, we were able to look further into North Georgia. Unicoi State Park and Lodge is located in Helen, GA. North Georgia is known for its beautiful mountain landscape and Unicoi does not disappoint. Lake Unicoi has a beautiful backdrop of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The state park is known for its…

11.18.22 – 11.20.22 Looking for a campground place that has accommodations for someone that doesn’t own a camper? Waterside at Blue Ridge is a great option with many tiny homes. Waterside at Blue Ridge is a gated RV and tiny home resort located just seven miles north of downtown Blue Ridge. The campground offers 192 sites with the options of renting a tiny home, gravel site, paved sites, or premium site with a hot tub and outdoor fireplace. All of the sites at Waterside are full hook-up, offering sewer. What makes this RV resort and tiny home different from others is that each lot is privately owned. The campground has a…

Waterside at Blue Ridge Tiny Home- 145
11.18.22 – 11.20.22 Tiny home living doesn’t have to be in a home on wheels. Waterside at Blue Ridge is a gated RV and tiny home resort located just seven miles north of downtown Blue Ridge. The campground offers 192 sites with the options of renting a tiny home and RV site rentals. My parents rented the tiny home on lot 145 at Waterside while we were staying on lot 108. The campground has a pool and large community hot tub. The Waterside Community Clubhouse is located across the road from the pool and offers rocking chairs, tables, a TV, bathrooms (with showers), laundry, and a deck overlooking the pond…
