Bald Ridge Campground – 48
Many of the sites at Bald Ridge are shady, but offer waterfront access and views of the many boats going by.

Sweetwater Campground
Sweetwater Campground is located in Canton, Georgia on the northeast banks of Lake Allatoona. The campground includes 149 sites and a large group camping section with 9 sites and a pavilion. I included a color coded map for RV sites vs. tent sites because this campground has many more waterfront tent sites than most campgrounds we visit.

Duckett Mill Campground – 73
08.30.19-09.02.19 Duckett Mill Campground is located in Gainesville, GA on Lake Lanier. It offers 97 sites with electric/water and 14 tent-only sites. The boat ramp is located right outside the campground gate, which makes me wonder if it gets more traffic than just campers. The beach is located on the right when you drive into the campground. It never seemed to be crowded, probably because most sites are located right on the water. When researching Duckett Mill, I did not find facebook posts about people’s favorite sites or anything beyond a google search that pulled up a blog similar to this one. McKinney Campground – 17
8.30.18-9.3.18 Holiday weekend means one extra day to enjoy the campground/lake! Last minute we registered for the site Thursday night so that when I got off work Friday at 4 p.m. I would be able to enjoy the evening without having to worry about packing the camper and setting up the site. By Friday evening McKinney campground was full, however it seemed like everyone trickled in. There was not a huge back-up around 6 p.m. at the gate. I know this because we forgot so many thingsāhotdogs, HDMI cord, and eggs for breakfast. Site 17 is a back-in site (considered waterfront) costing 32$ a night. The site is level and…

McKinney Campground – 37
04.27.18-04.29.18 Ended up in the exact same site as our very first trip in the camper. It’s a beautiful site with easy water access down a short path. The dogs LOVE the water. Check out my very first blog post here. Obviously McKinney is a favorite to our family, it was just a couple weeks ago that we stayed in site 15. Hopefully you won’t get bored of hearing about this campground from me, because we will be back this summer. Check out how big Summit has grown in a year! It’s still Spring here (not for much longer) so the temperatures stayed pretty cool in the evenings and warmed up as…
