02.19.23-02.25.23 Did we get hooked on Disney camping? Absolutely. Fort Wilderness RV Resort and Campground is located on Disney property in Buena Vista, FL. We camped on a premium meadows site in September of 2021. See that post for basic details on Fort Wilderness camping. This trip was booked only a month out from our arrival with a cancellation we picked up. During those dates, we had the option of a preferred site for $160 a night. General Coffee State Park
02.17.23-02.19-23 Checked off another state park on our way down to Florida. General Coffee State Park is located in Nichols, Georgia and while it seems to be the middle of nowhere, the park has a lot to offer. The main attraction is the farm where we saw donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and a horse. The park is about 1500 acres in total with a four-acre lake in the middle. Sleeping accommodations include four cottages, 50 campsites, four equestrian campsites, and ten dry camping sites. Originally we had booked in Pigeon Forge, but decided to save some money and pick up a cancellation closer to home. Waterside at Blue Ridge is a gated RV and tiny home resort located just seven miles north of downtown Blue Ridge. The campground offers 192 sites with the options of renting a tiny home, gravel site, paved sites, or premium site with a hot tub and outdoor fireplace. Fort Mountain State Park – 15
10.14.22-10.16.22 Fort Mountain State Park is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest in North Georgia. The park’s main attraction is the epic overlooks with views of the North Georgia mountains. At the top of the mountain hikers will find a stone fire tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, open for tours on the weekends. The drive up the mountain has quite a few curves, but our truck did great. The park includes a 17-acre lake with paddle boats to rent in the summer, a sand beach, and a putt-putt course.
