Huntington Beach State Park – 61 & 59
7.01.23-07.09.23 Scored a cancellation at our favorite beach campground about two months from the time of the trip. Stay tuned to see how I did that. Huntington Beach State Park is located in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. We previously camped at this state park three times and both of us grew up visiting this beach with family. The campground has 173 campsites, 66 of which are full hook-up with sewer connection. Both the north and south campgrounds have short walks to the ocean. Ridge Road Campground
06.30.23-07.01.23 When recreation.gov doesn’t have photos of the campsite how likely are you to book? Ridge Road Campground is located in Appling, GA just 30 miles north of Augusta. The campground is located on J. Strom Thurmond Lake. At 70,000 acres with over 1000 miles of shoreline, it is the largest lake east of the Mississippi River. The campground has 63 campsites, many of them with water views and access. Ridge Road has a rustic feel with campsites laid on dusty gravel and some requiring fancy negotiation. Maybe, but after six years of maintaining this website – I can’t hold back now. McKinney Campground is located in Acworth, Ga on Lake Allatoona. A Corps of Engineers park, it has 150 RV campsites, two beaches, one playground, and a boat ramp. We have camped at McKinney fourteen times; it’s our go-to campground, nine miles from home. S’mores Bar Recipe: – 1 and 1/2 cup graham crackers, crushed in food processor – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted – 4 chocolate bars, melted – 2 cups mini marshmallows – handful of chocolate chips Crush the 1 and 1/2 cups of graham crackers in a food processor and mix with the 1/2 cup of melted butter.
