McKinney Campground – 47
0.7.27.18-07.29.18 How many water hoses do you have? Before the trip, our answer to that was two. One for our fresh water and one that my wife uses during dumping to flush out our system. If you stay in the gorgeous waterfront site 47, at McKinney Campground though, you will need a second hose (3rd in our instance.) I highly recommend it, otherwise, in order to reach the water supply, you will have to navigate your camper to the very back of the site past the large tree. If that is your option you will most likely open your camper door straight onto the stairs that go down to the…

Bolding Mill Campground
07.19.18-07.23.18 Owning a camper can be compared to taking mini vacations multiple times per year. Yes—it can be a lot of work, however it is worth it. We extended our usual Friday-Sunday trip and enjoyed a long weekend on Lake Lanier. Bolding Mill Campground is a Corps of Engineers campground on Lake Lanier in Gainesville (NE portion of the lake.) The campground has 88 electric/water sites and nine primitive campsites. Driving into the campground a brand new dump can be found on the right (more on that later.) Followed by the boat ramp with plenty of parking and a large pavilion with more parking. Further into the park the beach…

McKinney Campground – 37
04.27.18-04.29.18 Ended up in the exact same site as our very first trip in the camper. It’s a beautiful site with easy water access down a short path. The dogs LOVE the water. Check out my very first blog post here. Obviously McKinney is a favorite to our family, it was just a couple weeks ago that we stayed in site 15. Hopefully you won’t get bored of hearing about this campground from me, because we will be back this summer. Check out how big Summit has grown in a year! It’s still Spring here (not for much longer) so the temperatures stayed pretty cool in the evenings and warmed up as…

McKinney Campground – 15
3.23.18-3.25.18 Attention! McKinney Campground has changed some rules. Some of these will not affect the majority, however a couple will. For more details on the campground, view the blog post on our first visit to McKinney Campground. First, the most important rule to my family, what kept us from going to McKinney all last summer – the maximum dog limit is now three (before being two)!!! Why the maximum at all? I don’t know, doesn’t make sense to me either. Second, the previous walk-up only sites, 31-40, are now reservable like the rest of the park. No longer will anyone be rushing over to the park at 8 a.m. on…
