Bald Ridge Campground – 48
Many of the sites at Bald Ridge are shady, but offer waterfront access and views of the many boats going by.

Duckett Mill Campground – 73
08.30.19-09.02.19 Duckett Mill Campground is located in Gainesville, GA on Lake Lanier. It offers 97 sites with electric/water and 14 tent-only sites. The boat ramp is located right outside the campground gate, which makes me wonder if it gets more traffic than just campers. The beach is located on the right when you drive into the campground. It never seemed to be crowded, probably because most sites are located right on the water. When researching Duckett Mill, I did not find facebook posts about people’s favorite sites or anything beyond a google search that pulled up a blog similar to this one. The Crafty Camping Mom posted about their…

Georgia Glamping Company
05.17.19-05.19.19 Georgia Glamping Company was started by a North Georgia family for over a year ago. The company sets up large canvas tents with all of the amenities you could imagine. I found this company through instagram and knew that I wanted to purchase a gift certificate for my parents. The idea was that my whole family would reserve a couple spots next to each other for the weekend. Rebeka is the main contact for the company and she was great to work with. She answered all my questions in a timely manner and set us up to have a great weekend. Rebeka also helped my mom up to the…

Shady Grove Campground
05.17.19-05.19.19 Shady Grove Campground is located on the west side of Lake Lanier in Cumming, Georgia. Previously a Corps of Engineers campground, it is currently owned by Forsyth County Parks and Recreation. The campground is set up on a peninsula with a large number of the 96 total sites having waterfront access. Shady Grove Campground includes a large beach area, boat dock, and playground. We really enjoyed that the roads (and sites) were heavily shaded, making for better walks with the dogs. Shady Grove Campground is the third Lake Lanier campground we have visited since starting the adventures in our travel trailer. Bolding Mill Campground and Bald Ridge Campground are…

Bolding Mill Campground
07.19.18-07.23.18 Owning a camper can be compared to taking mini vacations multiple times per year. Yes—it can be a lot of work, however it is worth it. We extended our usual Friday-Sunday trip and enjoyed a long weekend on Lake Lanier. Bolding Mill Campground is a Corps of Engineers campground on Lake Lanier in Gainesville (NE portion of the lake.) The campground has 88 electric/water sites and nine primitive campsites. Driving into the campground a brand new dump can be found on the right (more on that later.) Followed by the boat ramp with plenty of parking and a large pavilion with more parking. Further into the park the beach…
