Are you looking for a venue to host your next event? We want to share all the details on how we saved BIG time by having our kids’ birthdays at a Georgia State Park. Consider a park pavilion for your next event! The picnic shelters and pavilions are rented for the entire day at a reasonable price. We are going to share details below on how to save money on the rental. We hosted both of our kids’ birthdays at Red Top Mountain State Park pavilion 2 for its close proximity to a playground and restroom. Fort Mountain State Park – 13

10.27.23-10.29.23 Halloween festivities and peak fall colors in the North Georgia mountains made for a perfect weekend! The volunteer organization, Friends of Fort Mountain State Park hosted Halloween festivities the weekend before Halloween. This was their second time hosting the event at the park and hopefully it will grow each year. The event was promoted through Facebook and the volunteers even reached out by phone to let campers with reservations know what was happening. We participated by decorating our campsite, taking our kids trick or treating, passing out candy at our site, and enjoying the hayride. The hayride was $20 per family or $5 per person. The Friends of Fort…

Both the north and south campgrounds have short walks to the ocean. The entire park offers 2500 acres of wildlife and the beach extends for three miles. If you follow us on social media you know that we picked up a…

    General Coffee State Park

02.17.23-02.19-23 Checked off another state park on our way down to Florida. General Coffee State Park is located in Nichols, Georgia and while it seems to be the middle of nowhere, the park has a lot to offer. The main attraction is the farm where we saw donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and a horse. The park is about 1500 acres in total with a four-acre lake in the middle. Sleeping accommodations include four cottages, 50 campsites, four equestrian campsites, and ten dry camping sites. There are multiple playgrounds throughout the state park and about 13 miles of equestrian trails.   There are two campground loops; in our opinion…
