General Coffee State Park
02.17.23-02.19-23 Checked off another state park on our way down to Florida. General Coffee State Park is located in Nichols, Georgia and while it seems to be the middle of nowhere, the park has a lot to offer. The main attraction is the farm where we saw donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and a horse. The park is about 1500 acres in total with a four-acre lake in the middle. Sleeping accommodations include four cottages, 50 campsites, four equestrian campsites, and ten dry camping sites. 11.23.22-11.27.22 Looking for a state park campground that offers a full restaurant? That’s just what we had in mind when looking for openings for Thanksgiving 2022. Originally we had booked in Pigeon Forge, but decided to save some money and pick up a cancellation closer to home. Since this was going to be longer than just a weekend trip, we were able to look further into North Georgia. Unicoi State Park and Lodge is located in Helen, GA. Fort Mountain State Park – 15
10.14.22-10.16.22 Fort Mountain State Park is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest in North Georgia. The park’s main attraction is the epic overlooks with views of the North Georgia mountains. At the top of the mountain hikers will find a stone fire tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, open for tours on the weekends. The drive up the mountain has quite a few curves, but our truck did great. The park includes a 17-acre lake with paddle boats to rent in the summer, a sand beach, and a putt-putt course. The State Park offers a fully stocked visitors center with plenty of ice and firewood. No cell service at this…

Huntington Beach State Park – 140
09.18.22-09.24.22 Repeat after me, bring your bikes! Huntington Beach State Park is located in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. We previously camped at this state park twice and both of us grew up visiting this beach with family. The campground has 173 campsites, 66 of which are full hook-up with sewer connection. Both the north and south campgrounds have short walks to the ocean. The entire park offers 2500 acres of wildlife and the beach extends for three miles. This is the first trip that we stayed in the south campground, the full hook-up section. There is a $15 difference between the full hook-up campsites and the standard electric and water…
