Vogel State Park
02.16.24-02.19.24 Vogel State Park is located in Blairsville, Georgia, at the bottom of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. It’s ranked as one of the top parks in the state of Georgia as it’s surrounded by mountains, offers a well stocked lake, and waterfall. The 22-acre lake allows for non-motorized boats and paddle boat rentals are available. Next to the well stocked visitors center is a putt putt course and playground. Many miles of hiking trails can be found throughout the park. The campground recently went through upgrades and the campsite numbers have changed since our previous visits. McDowell Nature Preserve Campground
06.29.17-07.03.17 Finding a campground near a large city can be pretty difficult. We planned to meet friends and celebrate a birthday at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, N.C. It took a lot of research to find something that we liked near the park. It was also going to be a much longer drive from home than our two previous trips. After many google searches we came across McDowell Nature Preserve on Lake Wylie. Bald Ridge Campground
6.8.17-6.11.17 Bald Ridge is a Core of Engineers campground location on Lake Lanier in Cumming, GA. Another man-made lake in GA, it is known for its swimming, boating, and water park/resort. We have never been to the water park or resort, but have heard good things. Bald Ridge has turned into our go-to campground for the summer months. The reason for that being they allow more than two dogs! That’s not the only reason though, most of the campsites have an easy walk to the water. McKinney Campground
5.22.17-5.30.17 SOLD! We purchased/ordered our camper from Northgate RV in Ringgold in April and picked it up the end of May. The long awaited day came to pick up the camper and Heather got the quick walk-thru with the dealership while I was still at work. To make sure that everything worked correctly and because we were SO excited, we took it straight to McKinney Campground in Acworth, GA. McKinney Campground is a Core of Engineers Campground on Lake Allatoona about ten minutes from our house.
