Fort Mountain State Park – 15
10.14.22-10.16.22 Fort Mountain State Park is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest in North Georgia. The park’s main attraction is the epic overlooks with views of the North Georgia mountains. At the top of the mountain hikers will find a stone fire tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, open for tours on the weekends. The drive up the mountain has quite a few curves, but our truck did great. The park includes a 17-acre lake with paddle boats to rent in the summer, a sand beach, and a putt-putt course. Huntington Beach State Park – 140
09.18.22-09.24.22 Repeat after me, bring your bikes! Huntington Beach State Park is located in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. We previously camped at this state park twice and both of us grew up visiting this beach with family. The campground has 173 campsites, 66 of which are full hook-up with sewer connection. Both the north and south campgrounds have short walks to the ocean. The entire park offers 2500 acres of wildlife and the beach extends for three miles. McKinney Campground – 144 & 145
07.28.22-07.31.22 150 campsites, 10 camping trips, and we have finally stayed in the back of the campground. McKinney Campground is located in Acworth, Ga on Lake Allatoona. A Corps of Engineers park, it has 150 RV campsites, two beaches, one playground, and a boat ramp. We have camped at McKinney Campground ten times; it’s our go-to campground, nine miles from home.
