A. H. Stephens State Park
9.19.25-0.20.25 It’s a convenient place to stop off I-20, but A. H. Stephens State Park offers so much more. A. H. Stephens State Park is located in Crawfordville, GA–just three turns off Interstate 20. The park is best known for its history and equestrian facilities. There is an equestrian campground loop with 29 sites and a barn with stalls for horses. We also noticed a place to wash horses near the barn. Throughout the state park there are about 20 miles of horse trails. The main campground loop has 25 campsites with water, electric, and sewer hook-ups. The sewer connections were added about a year ago when the entire campground was renovated. A. H. Stephens…

Florence Marina State Park
5.16.25-5.18.25 Pack your bug spray! Florence Marina State Park is located in Omaha, GA on the northern portion of Lake Walter F. George (Lake Eufaula). Situated on the Georgia/Alabama state line, this park is known for its fishing and the proximity to Providence Canyon State Park. Florence Marina has 41 full hook-up RV campsites, 7 cottages, and 8 efficiency units. The park has 66 boat slips available to rent at its marina. Other amenities include fish-cleaning stations, boat ramps, a playground, and mini golf. Originally we had this trip booked in January, but canceled due to weather conditions. At that time we had one of the best campsites, 24. It is a large pull-thru campsite…

Roamstead Smoky Mountains Campground
04.09.25-04.13.25 Modern camping, glamping, and cabins in the Smoky Mountains just outside of Gatlinburg, TN—you will find it all at Roamstead Smoky Mountains Campground. Roamstead Smoky Mountains Campground is located in Cosby, TN right off highway 321. The campground has 30 RV campsites, 18 cabins, 9 yurts, 6 tent sites, 3 lodge rooms, and 1 airstream rental. Amenities include a swimming pool, restaurant with bar, activity yard, pavilion, playground, and hiking trail. Located between the RV sites, tents, and yurts is Indian Camp Creek with another smaller branch of the creek running between the cabins. In our opinion, the creeks are the most appealing aspect of the campground. They are…

Tifton Overnight RV
09.20.24 & 09.28.24 Looking for an excellent and easy place to stay the night on the way in or out of Florida? We liked this park so much that we booked it again for the trip home. Tifton Overnight RV is located right off I-75 at exit 62. The park is automated in that you book your site online, receive a gate code, and use that to enter the campground. In the park you will NOT find a camp host, bath house, or vending machine. This is explained on the website–so I’m not sure why people are complaining about it in their google review. The park is fully enclosed with a large metal fence and the campsites are well…

Fort Mountain State Park – 15
10.14.22-10.16.22 Fort Mountain State Park is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest in North Georgia. The park’s main attraction is the epic overlooks with views of the North Georgia mountains. At the top of the mountain hikers will find a stone fire tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, open for tours on the weekends. The drive up the mountain has quite a few curves, but our truck did great. The park includes a 17-acre lake with paddle boats to rent in the summer, a sand beach, and a putt-putt course. The State Park offers a fully stocked visitors center with plenty of ice and firewood. No cell service at this…
