Tifton Overnight RV
09.20.24 & 09.28.24
Looking for an excellent and easy place to stay the night on the way in or out of Florida? We liked this park so much that we booked it again for the trip home.
Tifton Overnight RV is located right off I-75 at exit 62. The park is automated in that you book your site online, receive a gate code, and use that to enter the campground. In the park you will NOT find a camp host, bath house, or vending machine. This is explained on the website–so I’m not sure why people are complaining about it in their google review.
The park is fully enclosed with a large metal fence and the campsites are well lit. This is probably the brightest campground we have ever been to. Keep this in mind if you are a sleeper who would need black-out curtains. Each campsite is paved, level, and offers full hookups. The amenities that Tifton Overnight RV does offer include a dog park and fast wifi. The wifi password can be found in the confirmation email that also contains the gate code. Each reservation is given a unique gate code, offering more security for campers.
There are many restaurants within walking distance of the campground including Longhorn Steakhouse, Waffle House, Olive Garden, Burger King, and Starbucks. We planned to walk as a family over to Longhorn on Saturday evening (9/28), but the restaurants were extra busy with people escaping Hurricane Helene damage.
Tifton Overnight RV was completely booked on September 28th when we passed through going home. Many campers were fleeing the storm damage or booked there to get power as their homes were going to be without power for a projected two weeks. Speaking to these campers about what they were going through made us even more thankful for what we have and the vacation to Disney that did not get interrupted by the hurricane. Looking at their website on September 30th they are still completely booked.
On the way down we booked campsite 24 based on what was available. The campsites on this row would have been better suited for a large 5th wheel or Class A because the dump hookup was located toward the front of the campsite. Next time we stay here I would pick a site in row 14-20 as those dump hookups are in the back–better suited for our travel trailer. The website does not have site photos yet, so I wasn’t aware when booking.
Campsite 1-28 are HUGE. We were able to pull in and did not have to unhook our camper from the truck. This made leaving the next morning much quicker. This is especially ideal for those in the class A campers that are towing something behind them. Campsite 29-34 are only 30ft. long so if we had booked one of those sites we would have had to unhook the camper and park the truck sideways in front or behind it.
Tifton Overnight RV was perfect for our overnight stay on the way to Fort Wilderness RV Resort at Disney World. We plan to reserve a site at this campground every trip to Florida in the future.
