Birthday Party at a Georgia State Park

Are you looking for a venue to host your next event? We want to share all the details on how we saved BIG time by having our kids’ birthdays at a Georgia State Park.

Red Top Mountain State Park

Consider a park pavilion for your next event! The picnic shelters and pavilions are rented for the entire day at a reasonable price. We are going to share details below on how to save money on the rental.

We hosted both of our kids’ birthdays at Red Top Mountain State Park pavilion 2 for its close proximity to a playground and restroom. The parks recently built a new restroom between pavilion 1 and 2 and it was clean during our rental. The playground provided for entertainment for the kids between eating and birthday events. Both pavilions have a trail down to the lake.

The Friends of Georgia State Parks offers memberships to the state parks that include awesome deals! One of the deals includes a free pavilion rental which we used for the birthdays. The regular rate at Red Top Mountain State Park is $50 per day for the pavilion—which we paid ahead of time to reserve. After the party we dropped by the visitors center to show them our Friends of Georgia State Parks pass with the free rental and we were refunded the $50. Keep in mind that parking passes are $5 per vehicle.

Some of the Friends of Georgia State Parks memberships also offer free nights of camping which would save on average $30 a night ($60 total). After you have used your free nights of camping, the rest of your reservations will be discounted 10%. The 10% off deal also covers cottage rentals which is a huge savings!

Now that we have explained all of the savings to make the pass worth it—there’s one more thing! We have partnered with Friends of Georgia State Parks to save 15% on the membership itself and 10% off the Georgia State Parks passport book as a bundle!
